About Me

Hi I'm Arbel from Israel, I love to trek, hitchhike, climb, bake, read and occasionally play computer games.
I love meeting new people and learn about them and their culture.
I read fantasy and sci-fi mostly but I'm not afraid to read anything that someone will recommend to me.
Recently reading "Reamde" by Neal Stephenson.
Last trek was the pinnacle trek in New Zealand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A while ago I finished my mandatory military service and decided that since I don't know what I want to do with my life I will do what I love, turned out to be traveling! So I took the saving from the army and flew to Nepal where I started this amazing experience. Which until now got me to trek in Nepal, see Myanmar, hitchhike across Thailand, travel in India(it soooooo big) and let New Zealand hypnotize me with all the mesmerising secnery

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm going to go with "celebration of the lizard King" but that because if someone else will know this song I. Will. Cry.
Movies: I gonna pick 2, first is "Scott Pilgrim vs the world" because this movie just does something to me maybe it's the editing but everything about this movie is awesome and compelling.
Second is "almost famous" because it's so simple and honest. Also it speaks about music and the culture of rock 💜
Books: hardest last.. I'm going to say "the stormlight archives" series by Brandon sanderson, bust if you ask me again in five minutes it going to be something different. Too many good books, too little time.
*half year of travel update*
It's been too long since I've watched a movie! The last one (the first since the beginning of the trip) was in "the incredibles 2" in Myanmar (it was about 2 dollar).
Happily enough I have with me my Kobo so I keep reading

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

👉18 days trek in Nepal with my brother (2 million different thing consider as one thing, right?)
It was mind blowing.
👉run down a mountain jumping into the lake at the bottom only to find out its holy for the locals.. Oops....
👉Hitchhiked across Thailand, from Pai to surat Thani sleeping mostly on my trusty hammock (and first time couchsurfing, also on my hammock!).
👉28 hours train ride in India from Amritsar to Patna, sharing the side berth with an Indian guy who couldn't speak a word in English
👉Seeing not enough of New Zealand and realising that I will never be able to have enough of this

Teach, Learn, Share

I know all kinds of little things.
Silly facts about history and science and weird thing that happened that make this world we live in unbelievable (did you know that in the years 1859-1880 there was an emperor to the USA?)
Bake cookies and cakes!
I can teach you to play chess (I'm not extremely good player)
Shot bow and arrow (sadly I don't have them with me)
Tons of cards games
The hidden philosophy of said card games and different board games (some of them made up)
I can try to teach Hebrew?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Water and shade
Chess kit
Playing cards
My music
I can try to share silence
Snacks!
Poor sense of humour
Chocolate spread (nearly out of chocolate spread but I got peanut butter)
Smiles!
I know to bake
If help around the house is wanted I'll be happy to help! Washing dishes, cleaning, painting taking the dog out, playing with the kids moving Furniture. Anything, you name it!
