ABOUT ME

I was born and grew up in Siberia and moved for college to Vladivostok, Russia. I studied at the University of Mississippi for 6 years and got my PhD in Counseling. I came to Hawaii to work at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Counseling Center. I fell in LOVE, got married, and now I am a full time student, studying Hula.

I love sports, music, dancing, hanging out with friends, camping, hiking, and most of all, traveling. I am addicted to TRAVELING! That allows me to learn and grow and HAVE FUn!

PHILOSOPHY

My logo is "where there is a will, there is a way". I believe that things happen for a reason. I like asking a question: Why not? I exercise a rule: Treat others the way you like to be treated. And most times I do what I love and love what I do.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting new people and share experiences with others. I also believe that good will travels the world, therefore we should help each other spread the good.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been CSing for over 7 years and have never had any negative experiences. I have been mostly surfing though. I started hosting when i came to Hawaii about 2 years ago. When I surf, i like joining area CSing groups and meet as many people as possible. When I came to Hilo, I stated organizing weekly CSing get-togethers. This is how I met most of the friends I have now.

Groundhog's Day, Curly Sue, Jungle Book, Overboard, Dicovery and travel channel. Although, I rarely watch TV. i like to listen to American and Russian Pop, bachata and salsa music. as well as Hawaiian reggae. I like reading Bill Bryson - he is funny and sharp. Although, I rarely find time to sit down and read - I like to go explore.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I hiked to Machu Picchu and climbed Waynu Picchu (there I saw where Gods, birds, and clouds live) I was once kicked by a whale shark (had a huge bruise on my leg). Took the Trans Siberian railroad three times! Hiked through the Amazon jungle at night. Saw a sunset and a sunrise in the Grand Canyon and I swear I got some blessing from Gods right there! Fished for sharks and stingrays in Beaufort, SC. Had a road trip from MS to Las Vegas and back! Climbed half of the half Dome. Swam with dolphins and Mantas in a wild.
