Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Since I joined in late 2011 I've hosted a lot of people and participated in a bunch of events, all over the world. CS is a great way to meet cool people: it seems everybody that does it is awesome!

Interessen

I love the following equally well, and in no particular order: reading, running barefoot, standup paddling, playing flight simulators, riding a motorcycle aimlessly, swimming at night in a warm pool, XKCD, and sleeping on a mountain and under the stars. Oh, and of course, couchsurfing!

Books. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but the following are some of my favorites: Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, McDougall's Born to Run, Bryson's A Walk in the Woods, Ende's Neverending Story, Asimov's Foundation, and Krakauer's Into the Wild.

Movies? Cosmos, Alive, any Woody Allen flick, 2001, The Empire Strikes Back (Han shot first!).

Music! Jazz, Blues, Madeleine Peyroux, Lady Gaga (no, seriously!).

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I've seen clouds rush toward me at eye-level under a clear sky, and then proceed to try and blow me off a mountain. Nothing beats the awe and helplessness when faced with the failty of our bodies.
