Overview
About Me
I'm 21 years old guy from Latvia, working full-time as mobile app developer for local social media site and I'm on my way getting computer science degree. Apart from my passion for technology, I love many kinds of travelling - cycling, hitchhiking, hiking - especially those who get you closer to locals and further from tourist places.
I love hosting people on couchsurfing but given that I work full time and studies as well I look forward to hosting 1-2 couchsurfers a month. Preferably on weekends as I'm very busy during the week and have no time to get in touch with my couchsurfers. Please read my profile and give me a sign you have done it by writing personal request. So far I haven't accepted anyone who says they just need a place to sleep but I have had many amazing couchsurfing guests who are willing to hang out with their host. Thank you for your understanding.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have only had a few CS experiences but they all were great. The best part of this community is to get to know the world from local's perspective not the one written in tourist guides.
Interests
-Doing some adventurous stuff outdoors (e.g. cycling in woods, hiking, hitchhiking, camping, geocaching etc.).
-EYP (European Youth Parliament). Great opportunity to meet people from all Europe, improve my English skills, debate (however I'm not into politics) and just have some fun.
- technology
- hiking
- camping

- geocaching
Music, Movies, and Books
>I'm not keen fiction reader and most of the books I read are about programming, productivity and internet marketing. Be sure I can share some knowledge with you!
>My favourite movie is "Into the wild" but in general I love all kinds of movie gend
>I'm really fond of reading travel blogs, especially ones written by crazy hitchhikers and world travellers
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my eurotrip in 2015 in North-Italy, we started to find wild camping spot only when it was already dark. Not only did I have amazing sleep under the stars in a grape yard but also woke up in a valley surrounded by Dolomite mountains. It was truly amazing moment I want to experience again.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Experiences from my previous trips, a lot of tech related talks (as you can imagine because I'm IT guy), EYP and some random talks as well. Also expect some Latvian sweets and other goods from my home country, of course!
Countries I’ve Visited
Andorra, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States
