ABOUT ME

I enjoy exercising my social skills with every member of society--you can always learn something from everyone. It might just be a new tid-bit, or a different perspective, all are enjoyable to me.

I also like capturing and archiving local histories aurally. Audio fascinates me.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life. Have fun. But be sure to be critical of the life you live and the fun you have.

The test:

Project inward for a fraction of a second. If that check works out, focus on the impact of your actions on the world around you. If you are OK with the response you get, act!

The goal in life is to make the time between the two evaluations nonexistent.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Lately it has been a lot of jazz. Mainly free jazz. Cecil Taylor, Ornette Coleman, Peter Brötzmann, Albert Ayler, Evan Parker, later John Coltrane. I also like punk rock, classical, old R&B, soul music from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, and other music with a good beat.

I'll listen to almost anything though, especially WFMU!

Books: Kurt Vonnegut, William S. Burroughs, Charles Bukowski, Denton Welsh, and a lot of non-fiction.

Movies: Any challenging movie--Welcome to the Doll House, Dr. Strangelove or How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, The Magic Christian, Jan Švankmajer's works. I really enjoy satire and comedies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Created an online socio-political radio show.
