ABOUT ME

There are so many faces and phases of the real I -- a talkative girl, a fearless adventurer, a nomadic traveler, a wildlife freak, a curious naturalist (in making) and a comic book junkie (hardcore) are just to name a few. More you'll know when we meet :)

PHILOSOPHY

Life is what happens to you when you are busy making plans (well, actually not mine originally; its borrowed from John Lennon ;) -- and thats why I dont make plans. Life just happens to me at the last minute, always!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Of course by surfing and hosting. But I contribute by spreading the word.. the couch surfing philosophy to non-couchsurfer section of our little global village. I share my CS experience with students (especially girl students) and encourage them to check it out!! I think CS is awesome-est way of experiencing the world :))

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My elder brother Akhil (Akhil bali, Mumbai, INDIA) is an avid couch surfer. We have hosted many surfers at his residence in Mumbai, India for a many years.

I am relatively new and have couch-surfed just a few times (Canada, Finland, China) But had very fun and enriching experiences. So I am very excited about this whole project CS.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love them. But dont get to read lots. My most fav book in the whole world is - To kill a mocking bird (Harper Lee). Others that have a special place on my bookshelf are - Animal farm (George Orwell), The little prince (Antoine de Saint Exupéry), My childhood, Mother (first 2 parts of Maxim Gorkey's autobiographical trilogy), 11 minutes and Valkyries (Paulo Coehlo).

I am also a comic book junkie. I am a proud owner of complete collections of Calvin & Hobbes, Asterix & Tintin. Plus, Harry Potter rocks!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmm.. hmmm... :p
Okay, here is one -- Once I walked in the Arabian sea, at midnight.. and it was a full moon night. That was an awesome feeling for me.

Then in Barrow, the northern-most tip of North America, I walked on the frozen Arctic ocean, right on top of the world!!!

Seen tigers - yes tiger(s) - 4 times in Indian jungles.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am really interested in learning about how people live/ survive in the extreme conditions. I have spent a lot of time (or may be a little less ;) visiting/ living with several communities in the North American Arctic. I am always eager to share/ learn about the Arctic adventures.
