Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finishing my master's thesis. Mastering the elusive German language.
ABOUT ME
Chipper, succinct, outgoing, honest to a fault, persnickety.
Tiny stature, overly loud voice, crazy laugh.
How's that for brevity?
PHILOSOPHY
On paper, it's the ever-clichéd "Live your life to the fullest." In reality, it's more like "Why do today what you can do tomorrow?" I'm not proud of it, okay?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have surfed once in Iceland, and it was a lovely experience. I hope this section will expand in the future!
Interests
Music and TV shows have been my two major obsessions for a while. Beyond basic consumption, I love dwelling into deep, long-winded analyses about them. Above all others, I would say the entertainment industry generally occupies a good portion of my head. Films, fashion, books, you name it.
I spend about 20% of my day singing a tune, either out loud or in my head.
Enjoy cooking, although admittedly pretty sloppy at it. Also, an amateur nutritionist: half of my shopping time is spent reading the labels.
Love walking around the city and discovering previously uncharted paths. Hence, I'll dub myself an explorer, like Dora (whom I loathe, ironically).
Oh, and charts. And lists. Everything is better with lists.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: engaging characters and stunning cinematography first, plot second. A fanboy of Wong Kar Wai, Pedro Almodóvar and Claire Denis.
Music: anything from bluegrass to shoegaze to j-pop. See: www.last.fm/user/Ard1
Books: mostly fictions. And mangas! Some perennial favorites: Cormac McCarthy's "The Road", Jeffrey Eugenides' "Middlesex", and naturally the infallible Harry Potter series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Floating in the middle of the ocean on a narrow 6-seat boat at sunrise, with packs of dolphins leaping and frolicking around. To borrow from a popular internet lingo: I can't. (This was in North Bali, for those interested.)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you programming, although I'd rather not. I've been told I make good storyboards, how about that instead? Or matching colors? I can also pick out random music charts trivia from memory, if you're into those.
I could use some help in brushing up my German and mandolin skills.
