About Me

*** IMPORTANT ***

• I only accept ONE guest at a time.
• You must have a working phone with a local SIM or a data plan. This will help us communicate more efficiently, and ensure that we avoid any no-shows, as I had in the past.
• Please, DO NOT send me friend requests without a reasons, without a message or a request. I'll refuse them.
• If you can't send me a request it's because one or more days are already busy with a surfer OR I'm not hosting at the moment. Sending a private message won't magically increase your chances.
• I do NOT like football, so no football related requests ("Let's watch the match/go to the stadium!").

Now that we acknowledged the fact I have a bad attitude, let's pass to more pleasant subjects. I am a freelance translator specialized in video games, which I also enjoy playing. I also love live music, trying new food, observing insects and experimenting with generative AI.

I have a taste for the unusual and for black humor. To me nothing sacred. Especially the sacred.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have endless strange and wonderful stories from my CouchSurfing experiences. From the time a guest tattooed me, to the time someone, in two consecutive days, built simulacra of a person in my room using random objects (got photo evidence), to the countless amazing meals and conversations shared with fellow travelers. CouchSurfing has introduced me to some of the most interesting and genuine people I've ever met.

You might have noticed a prevalence of female references on my page. This is because I have more female friends in real life and my hosting style reflects this. However, I am open to hosting guys as well, provided that they don't engage in typical locker room subjects like football and cars. Besides, I'm married.

Interests

If you share my love for black humor, red wine, and dark music, we will certainly get along well. And if not, that's okay too - just bring your cooking skills along, and we'll have a great time together.

Feel free to check out my socials, but please don't contact me through them - I may miss your message.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: http://www.lastfm.it/user/Luciferasi

Books: well, many. I'm mostly into horror/sci-fi, but also comedy. I love alternate history. You know, the "what if..." stuff.

Movies: let's talk about this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Witnessed the final days of Czechoslovakia's (not yet Czech Republic) Velvet Revolution in 1989.
Watched the 1999 total solar eclipse in Salzburg.
Went through the Nineties without being a Nirvana fan.
Tidied up my spice cabinet (SEVERAL TIMES!)
Survived pandemic IN NORTHERN ITALY.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you:

- to cook a risotto and to make tiramisu.
- to say "starch" in Lithuanian.
- to tell a female from a male praying mantis.
- to pronounce ყ (a Georgian letter, kinda like stepping on a toad).

I'm willing to learn recipes and anything you can teach.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I have time (i.e. I am not working) I can show you around, cook something Italian or Georgian, the usual stuff hosts do. I can also give you a less stereotyped view of Italy. Something a bit beyond the "best country-best food-best coffee-best lovers" predictable litany.
