ABOUT ME

Random Stuff About Me:
-I'm the most sincere smart ass you'll ever meet.
-I like my cats. I like eating french fries and ice cream, though not usually simultaneously.
-I'm a big fan of a good front porch, a hammock, or a firepit. I can spend hours on/in/next to one of these.
-I like clear nights where you can see all the stars. I dork out over a great sunset, and I'll try to take photos of the moon. They never come out.
-Summer thunderstorms are best enjoyed on the porch.
-Rollercoasters are one of the best things ever.
-My Useless Super Power is finding 4-leaf clovers.

Right now I'm living the Athenian Dream; I work for a local company (naturally in a position which uses exactly zero of my two degrees), I live walking distance to town, I play in a band (if you can call the noises I make 'playing'), I'm (sometimes) on a bowling team, I go to shows and dance parties, I drink good beer and PBR and bourbon, play air hockey, suck at pool, avoid downtown on gamedays, avoid the east side of town most always, and do what I can to make it day-to-day.

My favorite word is 'borborygmi'. What's yours?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Total newbie! I decided to look into Couchsurfing after hearing the experiences of my friend who has been a 'surfer for years, both as the couch-crasher and the couch-provider.

My all-time favorite book is The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
While I love watching movies, I don't have favorites that would make your average cinephile swoon: I love the Indiana Jones series (not that 4th one though); I wanted to be an archaeologist for the longest time. Then I found out that that's not what they normally do. I like Amelie, Wild Zero, Me and You and Everyone We Know, The Fifth Element, Office Space... I trend towards comedies.
I haven't had cable in 10 years, so I'm pretty out of the loop on TV. I watch stuff on Netflix from time to time... love some Family Guy or Jon Stewart. Also, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, etc. I should perhaps try something new in this department...
For music, there's lots, but pretty much none of it is on the Top-40/Clear Channel stations. Bands I always go back to are Built To Spill, The Decemberists, Stars... stuff like that. I have an unhealthy love of 80's/90's music, too. No shame.
