About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Mooving !

ABOUT ME

I LIKE : the smell of the wooden boats, the sound of a bottle of wine that gets open, the dance of the jellyfishes that go round in an aquarium, drinking a good coffee with milk in small and remote bars, a good meal with a good wine, tea and biscuits, the call of the seagulls in the morning...

I DON'T LIKE : the call of the seagulls in the night when I'm sleeping, looking for hours my socks that are lost in my backpack, the smell of the cold cigarette, the moray eels that try to bite your fingers, the sea-sickness, the washing-machines that don't wash...

Journalism and sailing. Theses are my main activities, now. I work as a freelance journalist in the week and I try to teach sailing in my free times (right now, not often...too much work! ).

I'm a slow traveller. Each time I discover a new place, I can't leave it. I stay one day and two ... and three weeks ! I can't imagine visit a place without meeting it's inhabitants. Just watching people, seated on a bench; going to the local market or staying hours in the bar where everybody meet, where all the stories gather. Watching the time that passes by taking all my time...

I'm quite an epicurian, so all that's got a link with good food, good wine and good company can't be bad for health... with moderation, of course ;-)

In march 2009, I left France to travel in South America. 4 countries in 15 months: I'm a slow slow traveller... I came back in july 2010 and since then, I live in Paris and plan to moove, sooner or later, closer to the ocean.

PHILOSOPHY

Let's try !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I talk about it to everybody I meet, I show people a bit of my citye, host people and now, I can't imagine travelling without it !

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was in Lisboa, few years ago.
From Mendoza to Ushuaïa, from las islas Chiloé to La Paz or the desert of Atacama, I've met many people just for a drink or slept on various floors, beds and matresses...I'm not too difficult ! Now, I sometines host people in my flat or meet others for a drink.
And I'm also on Hospitality Club.

Interests

- Sailing on old wooden boats or any sailing vessel, scuba-diving or snorkelling... well, I love all that has a link with the sea !
- Taking pictures and develop it
- Play the french "pétanque" on small places with friends and a good glass of Rum or Pastis... !
- Reading good books or independant comics

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Buying a plane ticket without a way-back, sailing in the dark night with a gorgeous milky-way above me, watching the whales in the Antarctic, drinking a whisky with a rock just picked up from a patagonian glaciar in my glass !
Leaving everything to go travelling.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach sailing, video, editing and a little bit of photography.
As for learning...I consider that we can learn from anybody (as for me, even from my niece of six years-olds !).
I'm curious, so you can learn me whatever you want... I'll be happy to discover !
