ABOUT ME

The study of graphic design, communications, and advertising allowed me to explore the world of mosaic art with a new and innovative approach. In the summer of 2010, I spent one month in Damascus with a group specialized in the restoration of Roman pavement mosaics, an experience whose cultural and emotional impact.

I'm fascinated by the ineffable nature of the world around us, ever in search of symbols and archetypes that might give us the possibility to describe a nature without definition.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle. The sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball and so are all the stars. The wind, in its greatest power, whirls. Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same, and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing and always come back where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The mysterious relationship between the infinitesimally small and the infinitely large, between unity and multiplicity: it is this, above all, which fascinates me in mosaic. Experimentation with mosaic gives me the possibility to reflect upon my way of experiencing the contemporary world while maintaining a constant rapport with the past.
