Overview
About Me
Growing up, my family moved all over the U.S. I landed in Seattle when I was seventeen, where I started working at a bakery. I ate lots of baked goods and eventually learned how to make bread.
I completed my undergrad at the University of Washington, but often found my time better spent working at the student farm there or a few other urban farm sites throughout Seattle.
My bicycle and I moved to Vermont for a few years--I was an intern at Yestermorrow Design/Build School, where I managed the small garden, cooked for students and faculty, swam in the river and completed a range of building projects.
My adventures in Vermont also included working on an organic berry farm, driving a delivery truck through icy Vermont winters, grazing sheep and cattle, milking goats and practicing making biscuits over a fire.
I recently moved back to Seattle in order to pursue graduate study in Urban Planning, focusing on regional food and energy systems.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested in traveling and connecting with other travelers.
Interests
Riding bicycles, exploring cities, growing food, cooking (recently I've been making a lot of homemade pizza and pasta), reading books, making useful objects out of found materials (lamps, shelves, boxes), generally concocting all manner of things (just started making a few batches of bitters for cocktails)
