About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Revolution, global consciousness, freedom from Capitalism, internet of things

ABOUT ME

My name is Faye, I'm 24 and live in England's second biggest city, Birmingham, where it's usually quite rainy but the people are fun!

I';m currently a student at Birmingham University where I study Computer Systems Enghineering with two of my best mates. We are currently looking to visit Paris in January for the weekend, so if you think you might have space for us, please get in touch (:

I would love to travel but am currently unemployed so it will have to wait until I can afford it, but it would be really cool to meet some people from around the world and have the option to stay with them at some point in the future.

I also love chocolate, the sunshine, live music, parties, body modification, feminism, socialism, photography, reading and technology.

I love to meet new people, and my friends say I'm nice, so if your friends say you're nice too then we'll probably get on. :)

PHILOSOPHY

I like to treat people as people, and try and not judge them on gender, class, race etc. It offends me when other people do so. I try to be very open minded and honest, and I enjoy sharing and helping people if they want me to help them. I try and be a trusting person, and I avoid conflict... as I often say, I'm a lover, not a fighter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few years ago I used to use this site to offer people a place to stay visiting Birmingham in a squatted hotel with a bunch of lovely hippies. It was very fun. Lots of parties, sunbathing and beer!

Now I'm back and hoping to find somewhere in Paris where my friends and I could stay for the weekend.

Interests

I really love computers and technology. I'm a massive horror film addict too! I am quite a social person and I enjoy making new friends. I am open minded and love to hear stories about other peoples' experiences and travels.
I like to play computer games, watch films, go to parties and explore new places in my spare time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I like horror films, gangster films, arty films and underground or "b" films. I enjoy films that really make you think, or that are just beautiful to watch. I love the Godfather; every scene in the film is perfectly colour co-ordinated, from the peoples' shoes to the colour of the flowers. It's gorgeous!
I listen to loads and loads of different kinds of music. Some stuff I listen to a lot of recently: Dubstep, The Microphones, Air, David Bowie, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, Bikini Kill, Bad Brains, Codeine, A Silver Mt. Zion, R.E.M, The Macabees, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, drum and bass and lots more!
I read a lot of books about different cultures and political movements, and a lot of books about gender politics, class struggle and fascism. I enjoy looking at art books, reading classics, and reading and writing poetry, but I don't show anybody ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not enough! I spend most of my time doing uni work these days and trying to learn to code. I like to watch films in my spare time and eat lots of different food that is probably very bad for me (: A good glass of wine or two is nice as well! I've done some pretty crazy things, lived all over Birmingham in lots of different places but have settled down a lot now and am looking for a new adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about computers and the internet, I used to build them in my spare time and at work. I am trying to learn how to code in Ruby and Java right now and am experimenting with different Linux distros.
I have a college education, and I know a lot about British history and politics, music and culture.
I know a lot about religion because it interests me, I enjoy debating and philosophising.
I have always wanted to learn how to play an instrument and a foreign language...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Positivity, friendship and wine! And my lovely friends! And you'd be welcome to come party with us if you liked. I could try and bake you something delicious :3
