About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To grow from wisdom, curiosity and creativity.
ABOUT ME
I believe I am approachable and have a calm vibe.
I like thinking with others, tossing ideas without defending some fixed belief.
I often strive to push limits and like putting myself in challenging situations.
Interests
I am a documentary filmmaker, photographer, and love to play music when I have access to instruments. I enjoy learning new languages, talking one on one and turning abstract ideas into actions. I mostly cook vegetarian iranian food, but there's nothing that beats cooking on a fire.
I want to talk about art, philosophy, world politics, history. feminisms, cinema, science, nature, the universe.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite films are in the realms of surrealism, docufiction, and sensorial ethnography documentaries. Parajanov, Tarkovsky, Maya Deren, Trinh T. Minh Ha, Agnès Varda, Elia Suleiman, Reygadas, Kusturica, Luis Buñuel, Iranian new wave (Kiarostami, Panahi)... to name a few.
As for music, what I play on the piano or accordion oscillates between klezmer, jazz, classical and blues. Music that makes me dance the most is Arabic/Iranian/Turkish psychedelic funk from the 70's.
Books: rather read non-fiction, contemporary philosophy and cultural anthropology books more than anything else. I also enjoy poetry!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: cinematography and photography techniques, languages (French, Farsi, Spanish, English), piano, a couple Iranian dishes.
Learn: anything anyone has to teach -- I am curious and always seeking knowledge.
