ABOUT ME
Bonjour,
howdy, my name is Ariane Hanbi. I was born and grew up in Korea and now reside in France. I love to travel the world more than anything else, enjoying it in all of its splendor; taking in the sights, smells, tastes and cultures from everywhere near and far. I enjoy conversations with interesting people. I like to have fun and am social but am very well educated in a broad spectrum of subjects. I've traveled to about 20 European countries and am always looking to see new parts of the world.
I'm almost impossible to embarrass, and I don't understand boredom. I'm curious. I like my life to be an adventure whether it's a physical adventure or an intellectual one. I'm outgoing on the outside, though sometimes shy on the inside. One of my many dichotomies.
I love to dance. Pretty much anywhere. Dance floors. Department Stores. Subway stations. When the feeling takes me, I'm probably gonna go for it.
I'm fascinated by psychology and moonlight as a hypnotist. When people meet me, they generally tell me their life stories. You probably will too. If you're really good, you'll get me to share mine as well. I want to exchange ours experiences and thoughts. and If you palled up my friend, you will be my friend during whole life.
I'm an easy-going, down-to-earth type of girl and am very open-minded, always willing to give something new/different a try, so long as it is legal and doesn't put myself at too much risk of physical harm!
PHILOSOPHY
Never underestimate the magic of serendipity--new places always have something you've never seen before; new people may have ideas you've never considered before; new experiences may help you see a side of yourself you never knew existed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I participate in CouchSurfing most often by meeting up with local CSers whenever i visit another city, usually in a foreign country. I have also surfed a few couches as well as hosted/met traveling CSers in France, but with much less frequency. All of my CS experiences have been positive ones, ranking from good to great.
At first, one of my best friend told me Couchsurfing wedsite. Shortly i can find here is the best place to meet a real local friend! I can sleep anywhere like hostel or hotel. But always to be a friends isn't easy. So using CS is the best thing im sure! That's why i got up enough nerve to surf even if i'm girl!

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
I like to describe my musical taste as 'eclectic' since i listen to a variety of genres, so you can catch me listening to Radiohead or OutKast or Sigur Ros or Massive Attack or Justin Timberlake or Explosions in the Sky, depending on my current mood and/or environment. And nowadays, I've an intense love of latin music like Despacito by Luis Fonsi, Subeme la radio by Enrique Iglesias, Chantaje by Shakira
MOVIES
I used to consider myself somewhat of a film buff, but nowadays, aside from certain movie events (ie. going to the midnight showing of the new Batman films), i tend to watch films in bunches. I enjoy watching films of all genres and releases, from blockbuster action movies to limited indie dramas. The films that stay with me the most are the ones are able to strike a balance between drama and comedy, much like real life. And i also am quite fond of films that require thinking and/or present new ideas/worlds for which the characters live in.
I'm also a sucker for films shot on location and uses the real world as it's backdrop.
some of my favorite films include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Inception, Lost in Translation, The Dark Knight, Sunshine, Adaptation, The pianist, Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight, Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier/Civil War and Deadpool.
BOOKS
I do enjoy reading, quite an avid bookworm. I prefer fiction and tend to gravitate towards books related to detective one, specially if it's a novel that has been or will be adapted to film. but will venture into non-fiction too if it's interesting. Some of my favorite books include DA VINCI CODE by Dan Brown, THE STRANGER by Albert Camus, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD by Harper Lee, The vegetarian by Han Gang and Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One?! Hiking the Alpes in France for 2 days and the incredible sunset at Algarve. Oh, and as a person of the only divid country in the world, visiting the Berlin Wall in Germany which once was a divid country, too. And watching the football game between Real Madrid and Barcelone in the stadium in Spain. And i ran across Morocco's Sahara Desert and seeing the shooting stars fell down over my head during whole night and the splendid milky way. And visiting the World War Two Nazi death camp and placing a lighted candle at the camp's execution wall at Auschwitz in southern Poland. Have been almost all over Europe, and to Turkey. and I am way overdue to get my act in gear to explore all the world. Look out, here I come!
