About Me
Hey! I'm new to this, and I didn't have time to fill all this out yet. If I messaged you, please give me a shout back. I can tell you more about myself. I'm just busy right now.
Here's my IG if that helps: https://www.instagram.com/aryonnali/
I'm fairly new to Couchsurfing. I just recently finally got a full-time job and real stability in my finances so now I can take some time for small adventures. That's what I'm here for mostly. I have some long weekends I would like to take advantage of, as well as some vacation time. I am excited to travel on my own because I'm pretty laid-back and flexible about travel arrangements. But I'm also hoping to go on some small trips with friends. So maybe I'll try and meet up with some locals to our destination through here too!
I work at a college doing institutional research and assessment. My office helps the school make decisions and keep apprised of how they are successful and where there can be improvements. I have my MA in Social Psychology, which is what I came out here for - I'm originally from southern Virginia.
I'm friendly. I tell stories. I laugh easily. I like making new friends. I'm outgoing. I'm brave.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm trying to have some small adventures out in the world on my own, and I'm looking for friends while I'm at it.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I am pretty open to any kind of music. I listen to a lot of Top 40, Jazz, Country. My favorite artists are Adele, Frank Sinatra, Miranda Lambert, Dolly Parton, Ariana Grande.
Books: Too many. Currently reading/aiming to read Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates; Selfish, Shallow, and Self-aborbed by Meghan Daum, Flow by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi; and Shrill by Lindy West.
Movies: The American President; Live, Die, Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow; documentaries; Cabin in the Woods; Die Hard; 90s disaster/action movies
TV: (There's too much TV and I want to watch it all) The West Wing; Bob's Burgers; Elementary; The 100; Ken Burns documentaries; Buffy the Vampire Slayer; How I Met Your Mother; The Good Wife
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach origami, crocheting, some small meals. I have a lot of knowledge that is hard to some up. I'm sort of a Jane-of-all-trades.
I am trying to learn Spanish (again, I learned it and lost it). I am also ALWAYS down to learn how to cook new dishes and also just to try and try a lot of new things food wise.
I'm pretty adventurous so I would love to try new activities and brave the unknown and unfamiliar.
