About Me
HEY, I'M NOT IN ITALY AT THE MOMENT!
I used to have a job in a office, but then I started traveling, working and volunteering abroad. I'm happier in the present, I don't know about the future.
I'm mostly a creature of habit and for me it's more stressful rather than exciting to plan a journey (but I think I may have found the solution for this; don't plan too much).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At the beginning it was mostly a way to find places to stay for one (or two) night for free; once I've tried it I realized I'm genuinely interested in meeting local people and experiencing the places that I visit as they do (which means also seeing where and how they live, as awkward as it may sounds); I'm not really that much interested in sightseeing, I take very horrible pictures.
The most valuable gift that meeting locals has brought to me is changing my perspective... on me! I thought I knew it all, I knew it better, but I don't! Visiting a country and being apart from people that live in that country, doesn't really give much of a chance to see things in a different way, because in the end I'll still value and judge what I experienced with my point of view; and I really need and want to change how I see things.
Being a solo traveler offers anyway great opportunities to interact with local people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up in the 90s, so I have undoubtedly good taste in music, even in pop music; some of the credit goes also to my older brother (not for pop music!)
Thelma & Louise; Indiana Jones trilogy; Once upon a time in America; Synecdoche, New York; The talented Mr. Ripley
Tv series: everything that is broadcasted on FX network or is an original Sky production is worth watching; and also British (mini)tv series; but at the beginning there was only Criminal minds (and Desperate housewives)
IT (Stephen King); The magic mountain (Thomas Mann); Crime and punishment (Fëdor Dostoevskij); Baudolino (Umberto Eco); Don Chisciotte della Mancia (Miguel de Cervantes); Steppenwolf (Hermann Hesse)
David Foster Wallace is the only writer of whom I've read everything it was published (in Italian)
And then I'm a little bit obsessed with books written during the Soviet period by people that lived in the Soviet Union.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
None :(
No, wait! When I was in my 20s, I organized completely out of the blue a quick trip to Paris to attend a Marilyn Manson concert: I'd never flown before and I had to plan everything in just one week; I booked a room only for the night of the concert and then flew back home.
Learning to ask! (for information): if it wasn't for that, sure I'd still be lost somewhere in Albania
Spending the entire night on the deck of a ferry (from Corfu to Ancona); never, never again! I'd rather swim! (and I can't swim)
I'm glad that I've already had the worst experience of my life.
In general, every time you try to step out of your comfort zone, you do something great, no matter the outcome.
Teach, Learn, Share
Maybe someone can learn from my mistakes.
I want to learn how to say "thanks/thank you" and "mountain(s)" in as many languages as possible
What I Can Share with Hosts
Please, for your own safety, don't ask me to cook! Certainly I can wash the dishes if needed (I like it!) If you need help for daily tasks, just ask and hopefully I can help you.
A pair of ears to listen to whatever you want to tell; questions.
