About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm an Italian girl, who loves travelling and visiting new countries and knowing new people. I speak French, German, English and Spanish.I also studied a bit of Arabic, but it is really complicated and I understood that in order to learn it I will need more time! During my bachelor, I took part to an exchange program that allowed me to study for a year in Dresden (Germany) and for a year in Paris (France). I started a Master in International Relations in Italy and I lived for one semester in Istanbul as Erasmus exchange student. It was an amazing experience! Then I went to Argentina for three months and later I stayed two months in Barcelona, for an internship. When I finished my master, I decided to go back to Argentina for three months. Now, I am back to Italy, but I am really looking forward to starting a new adventure soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am of the opinion that Couchsurfing allows you to have incredible experiences and to get in touch with people from all over the world. Moreover it gives you the possibility to discover a place through the eyes of someone who has been living there. By staying in different cities I have learnt how can be difficult to go around above all if you don't speak the local language. Therefore knowing some local people can be really helpful, if you don't want to get lost on the first day! (...but I still use to get lost in places that I should supposed to know well!)
Interests
I like doing sports such as judo.
I like running and I even took part to some competitions (but just 5 km or 10 km)!
However I really like spending evenings speaking about art, music and politics! Of course, I love eating and drinking with people coming from different places! (Middle Eastern food is one of my big passions! Just the word "baklava" makes me dream eheh)
- politics
- rock music
- international relations
- feminism
- climate change
- interesting people
- gender equality
- migration
- foreign food
- foreing languages
Music, Movies, and Books
I really like rock, indie, alternative music, and electro swing. Aerosmith, Guns'n Roses, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Clash are just some of my most beloved rock classic bands. Beirut, Yann Tiersen, The Black Keys, The Who and Parov Stelar are among my favourite bands too.
I like listening to German and French music, for example Seeeds or Le Fauve. I have started been interested in Latin American music and until now I enjoy Calle 13, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Bomba Estereo.
I also discover to have a passion for jazz music, even if unfortunately I don't know that much about it. Despite my age, I would really like to start playing an instrument. You know: "never say never!"
I enjoy my time reading, in particular I use to read a lot of articles on politics, society, but also music. I love having a general knowledge! (I have to admit, I might sound boring, well, let's say that we can discuss it in front of a glass of wine, another big passion!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Actually I still have to do it!
I don't think to have done amazing things in my life. The reason isn't that I consider myself too ordinary or too extraordinary. I just feel that I still have to do something amazing. There are many things that I personally regard as amazing: be a volunteer in an association, run to the airport for telling to someone that you love him or even be able to improve women condition in some societies. I am of the opinion that in order to classify an action as amazing, this action needs to bring positive effects to someone. I hope to do something amazing very soon.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn how to cook the typical meals of the country that I am visiting; although unfortunately in five months I haven't been able to learn how to prepare baklava, my favourite Turkish (and not only!) dessert! As exchange I can teach you how to make some of the classic of the "cucina italiana". Well, let's say that I can try! Actually by travelling my way of cooking has started being less Italian and more international: I still remember when I decided to cook some cous-cous with pesto and ratatouille! (I swear that it tasted better than it seems!) Moreover people use to like my way of cooking bulgur: a Turkish dish! But I can assure you that Turks have approved it!
I can also share my little knowledge of some foreign languages!
