About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travelling = Happiness = Life

ABOUT ME

Coming from a multicultural background, I am what has been termed as a "third culture kid". It means my home and my origins are many different cultures and countries. I was born in London, from a Colombian mother and Argentinian father. After growing up in 4 countries, I am used to moving around. I love travelling with an extremely low budget by hitchhiking and Couchsurfing as much as possible.
It just makes the journey that much more exciting, allows for a more cultural experience and proves that you can lead a happy life without a lot of money.

PHILOSOPHY

"The biggest risk is not taking the risk" -- This saying has definitely helped me move forward in life, especially in times of confusion and when I've been scared or nervous.
I also try and live by "honesty is the best policy", but perhaps sometimes I am too honest for my own good.
"Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone" -- from a travel blog I read and a phrase I truly identify with. Since travelling on my own, I've learnt to appreciate the present, let the past be history and tomorrow be a mystery.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am kind of "homeless" per se, so couchsurfing is a great way to stay in places and get to know the people and culture. If you have a cat, even better, as I love cats (and pets in general) ! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed quite a lot now, and all my experiences have been incredibly amazing and positive! Couchsurfing has allowed me to break away from preconceptions and is a way to truly have some genuine and unique moments. I hope I can only reciprocate when I have the time and space.

Interests

I love animals, art, chocolate, travelling, learning new languages, learning about different cultures, videogames, painting, sleeping, I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie, raising money for charities, photography, playing ping pong and frisbee, volunteering for animals, and watching films.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love watching films. I'm a big Disney fan, as well of other lesser known animations. I love sci-fi, action, comedy, and animal/nature documentaries above anything else. My music tastes are varied, but overall I prefer rock. I went to my first concert ever in Perth to see Muse....they were beyond brilliant.

Trying to get back into books, I'm currently reading the "The Ringing Cedars of Russia" series.

Reading blogs and in the process of launching my own.

Do check out my travel companion´s wonderful and witty blog http://mochilasperegrinas.com/ - it´s in Spanish, but many of our travels together are written about there!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In November of 2013, I jumped on my first skydive ever. I raised $1000 for charity and jumped to raise awareness.

Teach, Learn, Share

As an honest traveller, I love treating people the way I'd want to be treated. I am open minded and up for new experiences (although not so open to new food flavours). The exchange of languages and cultures excite me, which is why I love couchsurfing! As a surfer, I am eternally grateful to people who let me stay in their homes. I am clean, easy going, curious and probably too nice for my own good. So far have had amazing experiences! Also, if you have pets, it makes my experience that much more wonderful!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share my experiences in life and travelling, my love for animals and nature, and just my enthusiasm for life. I don't really like cooking, however, I'm very happy to try and cook you something simple, and if not, at least wash your dishes!! I usually bring some Argentinian mate (tea) with me, and I would love to share this local drink with my hosts if we have the time.
