About Me

Hello! I'm Arica and I'm 21 years old, I made this profile because I will be leaving to Madrid, Spain January 22nd and will be there as an au pair, but I want to make friends and meet new people prior to my arrival. As an au pair mostly monday-friday my dedication will be to the family I am being hosted by, but my weekends are free and I look forward to traveling a small portion of the country and surrounding areas with the help of people I can meet on here or in person there. I have a boyfriend back home that I’m completely loyal to, so I'm not looking for hookups, just friendships!!
So it is a little hard to describe oneself huh? I guess I could start with my art, I've been drawing since I was a child and I never fell off, it is my hobby and something I enjoy doing so much, I love to draw and paint with others, and i might even draw you if my motivation is up to par lmao. I enjoy going to concerts and listening to music, walking and just relaxing and witnessing artistic areas of land. I do smoke weed, and if it's legal in your country (or in your home) I'm down to pitch in and have a sesh with you, if that's not your kind of thing dont worry, I dont keep any of that on me during my travels and I won't even bring it up if you don't, I am to very respectful of everyone's home and personal spaces. I'm not a big drinker but I dont mind a glass of sweet red wine or sangria every now and then. And I'm a huge foodie, I love to try international plates, and I would love to help you cook as well!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For making friends and finding people to hang out with that are also tourists like me, or locals who can show me the more hidden gems of their land.

Interests

I'm open and interested in all sorts of things, change is fun to me, so I would love to experience a lot while I can before I go back to school upon my departure from Spain. I am an artist in the way that I do illustrations and watercolor paintings. I'd be grateful if anyone could show me anything that has to do with my interest or just want to hang out.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide variety of music, I lean toward rock and all of its sub genres and lately trap lol, some of my favorite artists are XXXTENTACION, lil peep, 21 savage, depeche mode, the cure, brand new, MGMT and a whole list of others. As for books and movies I'm a die hard horror fan, anything scary is a yes for me! I just got done reading American Psycho and I don't reccomend it for the faint of heart!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This may seem generic but something I found amazing was when I adopted my rescue pup Lily. Leaving her is gonna be one of the harder parts of leaving.

Teach, Learn, Share

Unfortunately my Spanish is the bare minimum, I am Hispanic and Mexican, but I was raised on mainly English. I hope to get a refresher in Spanish during my trip (as well as other languages) and I'm really excited to learn about the culture and everything the world has to offer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I do end up crashing on someone's couch, itll only be for a day or 2 probably. So I wont be much of a burden and I'd probably only use shower and toilet while I'm there, but I want to have a good time with my host! Of course I'll clean up after myself and I hope that we build a friendship of top of our host relationship! I want to make friends that can show me around or that we can have our adventures together.
