Overview
About Me
I'm goofy and fun-loving. I like to pretend I'm not emotional, but sometimes I cry at Disney movies ;)
Seriously though, about me...I was born in Ottawa, Canada and raised in a small town near Boston, USA. I grew up near a handful of llama farms and around the corner from a few neighbors who have horses and/or chickens. I'm currently a journalist, but that's ending soon 'cause I'm moving to France in October 2016 for a year. :)
I'm laid-back - if you wanna hang, let's hang! If you're busy, I totally get it. I'm really considerate of others' living spaces - I've lived in a zillion roommate situations and I'm pretty flexible according to who I'm staying with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Cool people, unique experiences, and comfy couches!
For now I'm on here solely as a guest, but I aspire to one day have my own couch so I, too, can host. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music...I love Shakira. But other than her, I am a sucker for British pop rock and 90's/00's alt rock. I listen to world music when I write - stuff you might hear in a Nepalese craft shop or a hookah bar - and am a fan of swing jazz and country. I like most music I hear.
Movies! I like Snatch, The Royal Tenenbaums, Chocolat, and other cinematographic gems, but frankly there is no movie that cheers me up on a bad day quite like White Chicks does.
Books: I was, and am, a Harry Potter geek. I am not ashamed to admit I had a big crush on the Weasley twins. But I also like "Everything is Illuminated" by Jonathan Safran Foer, and "Atonement" by Ian McEwan...and others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
*Climbing a stream in Jamaica and sitting in a hole behind a waterfall at the end with friends
*Trying to see the medical school where my granddad was a student in Prague, and then getting to see it solely because I got sick and was admitted there
*Seeing a concert in a thousands of years-old ruin in Israel where I saw the bassist of Radiohead collaborate with an Indian groove orchestra and famous Israeli singer
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a supporter of all three... :)
