ENGLISH BELOW
Studente eterno di lingue straniere, persona essenzialmente "diversa". Non sono diverso per aver scalato l'Everest, per fare paracadutismo, per essere un poliglotta, per aver viaggiato in tutto il mondo con uno zaino in spalla, per essere pieno di piercing, per essere un musicista che sa suonare tutti gli strumenti che esistono, per essere un atleta olimpionico o per essere in grado di camminare su una fune fra due montagne. Se sono diverso, è per quello che sono, non per quello che faccio.
Sono nato e cresciuto in Molise, in Italia, ma non posso certo dire di sentirmi molisano. La mia cultura è solo mia: cerco di prendere quello che mi piace dalle culture con cui vengo a contatto per formare la mia cultura. Non nego che parte della mio background sia determinato da raccolte stagionali di uva o olive in campagna, di preparazione della conserva di pomodoro o di storie, filastrocche e favole in dialetto tramandate dalla nonna di Guglionesi. Ma è molto di più: è scolpito anche da mentalità con le quali sono venuto a contatto durante la mia vita; da treccine africane fatte sulla spiaggia, dalla preparazione casalinga di rimedi per i capelli più crespi per donne mulatte sudamericane, da piatti tipici brasiliani, da arepas venezuelane, da canzoni svedesi per bambini, da cartoni animati della Disney, da esperienze di contatto con rifugiati politici, dall'isolamento sociale dovuto all'essere diverso per questi e altri motivi, e da tanto altro.
Aperto a conoscere persone qualsiasi età e sesso, nella speranza di condividere princìpi, più che interessi in comune.

Proverbial foreign languages learner, essentially “different” person. I am not different because I might have climbed Mount Everest, might skydive, might be a polyglot, might have traveled around the world with a backpack, might be covered with piercings, might be a musician able to play any existing instrument, might be an Olympian or might be able to walk on a rope between two mountains. If I am different, I am different for what I am, not for what I do.
I was born and raised in Molise, Italy, but I cannot say I feel as though I am from Molise. My culture is just mine: in order to create my culture, I try to make out the best out of all the cultures I have come into contact with. I cannot deny that part of my background was built on seasonal harvests of grapes or olives in the countryside, on the preparation of canned tomatoes or on tales, nursery rhymes and fables in dialect told by my grandma from Guglionesi. Yet, it is much more: it was also shaped by the mentalities I have come across during my life. By African cornrows made on the beach, by the homemade preparation of remedies for the nappy hair of South American mixed-race women, by typical Brazilian dishes, by Venezuelan arepas, by Swedish children’s songs, by Disney’s cartoons, by my experiences in contact with political refugees, by the social isolation caused by being different for these and other reasons, and so on.
I am open-minded? Well, I prefer saying that I am open to meet people of any age and gender, in the hope that we may share principles, more than common interests.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Essendo uno studente universitario, spesso mi muovo per ragioni di studio. Dal momento che sia il portafoglio sia le esperienze poco piacevoli mi inducono a evitare ostelli, e dato che mi piace conoscere nuove persone, potrei dovere/voler unire una necessità a un'esperienza piacevole.

I am a university student and I often travel to study. Since both my wallet and previous uncongenial experiences at hostels lead me toward other accommodation options, and given that I enjoy meeting new people, I might have to/want to combine a need with a pleasurable experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

La mia compagnia e, se posso, un pensierino (laddove conosca i gusti del padrone di casa) o una mano con le faccende. Sono una persona molto poco attaccata al "baratto"; faccio più affidamento sul buon senso.

My company and, when possible, a little something (when I know the tastes of the host), or maybe a hand with their chores. I am not very fond of the “barter” idea; I rather bank on common sense.
