About Me
Hey! My name's Ariel. I'm from Los Alamos, NM, USA. I'm currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. I had the amazing opportunity to go on exchange to UNSW Australia in Sydney for the entire year last year. While on exchange, I was blessed with chances to backpack around Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia(Indonesia, Thailand, and Viet Nam). I've now returned to Georgia Tech, but I've caught the travel bug bad, and I realized how little of my home country I've actually seen. I'm hoping to change that. I'd love to meet you and see the hidden gems of your city!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best travel experiences are always hidden in unexpected places only to be found with the help of locals.
Interests
I have always been very interested in learning about other cultures. My mother is Caucasian American with a farming background, while my father is Chinese Malaysian. Since my father is from abroad, my siblings and I were taught to be internationally minded. When I was young, he would frequently quiz us on foreign current events and fascinate us with stories of his travels. I am thrilled that I now have the opportunity to make stories of my own.
