Overview
About Me
A Cultural-studies student from Hong Kong, currently on an exchange programme in Vilnius University, Lithuania. I'm new to couchsurfing, but I'm willing to learn!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's an amazing opportunity to meet with locals while travelling, to meet and talk! I believe couchsurfing isn't just about having a place to sleep, but its also about sharing and communicating :) I heard about it at a "grassland-story-sharing", a kind of travel experience sharing in Hong Kong, and I was amazed by the idea. It was that moment that I decide to step out of my comfort zone and give it a try.
I would also like to experience an alternative style of travelling. Instead of reading from travel books and websites, and following their guideline about what to see in the city, I want to hear recommendations from locals: what's interesting things are happening in town?
Interests
Immersing myself into the world of movies.
Wandering and getting lost in unknown streets.
Capturing wonderful moments with my camera.
Plucking simple chords and humming tunes.
Hiking in the woods.
Social innovations and charity.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a movie lover, lots of favourite films, but here are some that pops out from my head: The before sunrise trilogy, Memento, Dead Poets Society, Blue is the Warmest Colour, everything from Hayao Miyazaki, Francois Ozon, boyhood, Begin Again.
Music: It depends on my mood really, but I like Sigur Ros, Olarfur Arnalds, Yann Tiersen, Belle & Sebestian; Some Indie bands from Mainland China too.
Currently reading: Milan Kundera's unbearable lightness of being, Laughable loves. Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was a volunteer teacher in a village school in Cambodia; Teaching 30 students in a classroom with pebbles floor and thin wooden walls. It was filled with laughter, sweats, and tears.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I live in Hong Kong- one of the most diverse places in the world with a complicated political situation. (Once a British colony, and now a "special administrative region" in China, so its part of China but it's different from China!) It's this diversity that shaped my personality into a an open-minded and curious one.
I can share with you stories about where I live: how can 7 million people squeeze onto one small island? How are we similar and different with China?
