I'm a Med. student who loves to hike all across the globe. Actually I met my wife in the Israeli national trail (1000km).

ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Ariel and I born and raise in Israel.
Its realy hard for me to describe myself, i like to think that i'm open minded and sincere who who look for new places and cultures. I went through my first big trip 6 years ago for half a year in Nepal, India and Kenya. its actually easier to tell about my life than to describe my charterer (i do believe that man's action define who he is and tell a lot more than words). In high school I majored in plastic arts and physics. Right after school and before getting drafted (its 3 years mandatory in Israel) i took a gap year at a pre-army program ("Mechina"). That mean's I spent a whole year in boarding conditions with people of my age that chose, like my, to take a year off and spend it learning history and philosophy, trekking in Israel, volunteering and mostly manage our own life as a group in a meaningful way. In the army (IDF), i function mainly as a training Sargent (yeah, shouting and making trainees do push-ups like you imagine) in the armored corps (tanks). After the army I went on a big, half year, trip to the Far East, and when I came back I started working as a S.A.T. teacher. Now I’m a third year Med. student and trying my best to try and hike as much as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- Rock. mostly classic rock (LZ, Beatles and all the other classics from the 60's&70's), progressive rock like Jethro Tull, Yes, King Crimson and Genesis and also alternative and modern rock like Radioehad.
Movies- Matrix, Quentin Tarantino's (Pulp Fiction is my most favorite), Guy Richie's (Lock Stock&Two Smoking Barrels is my most favorite), LOTR.
TV Shows- House, The Wire, Sopranos.
Books- like to read every thing i get. mostly Hebrew but also read classics in English like Norwegian woods, The Alchemist, Dracula, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Mechina program i did in the gap year after high school and before army. most importent year of my life so far, it had a big influance about my perspective and gave me lots of ambition to live a meaningful life.
