About Me
ABOUT ME
I willing live in a neighborhood of which I am in the minority. We have a lot of people over for meals on a weekly basis. And I love it. I don't have a normal occupation because I am learning that I don't want to have everything figured out because that gives me control and I am better out of control. But in less philosophical terms. I love to cook dinners, desserts, breads. I enjoy climbing trees being outside and playing with kids. I have a ministry degree and have chosen to use it in this phase of life in life instead of through a church. In my part-time work as a Drug Prevention Specialist I get to be a guest speaker in middle school health classes to help them become less susceptible to drug use. I am currently getting ready to marry a wonderful man, Aaron Shaver who also lives in our neighborhood, where we live intentionally with our friends. I also live with Emily Adams (for more 3 months) another couch surfer.
Interests
I enjoy getting to experience and learn from different cultures, in hopes that their values and norms will expand mine. I journal, cook, crochet, play with kids and listen pretty regularly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Awestruck Moment #1: As pictured in my profile shot, when Aaron proposed he surprised me with a celebratory party of all those we love in Abilene, I felt so loved by all. That evening will stick in my mind for a very long time.
Awestruck Moment#2: Spending a week in an orphanage Cap Haitian one summer in high school set my heart toward orphans and adoption. That's when I started to realize I am created to be a mother.
Awestruck Moments: I will continue to think about these.
