About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eat well; travel often.

ABOUT ME

I'm 24 years old, born and raised in the Midwestern United States. I'd like to think my friends would describe me as friendly, fun, and adventurous. If other adjectives are used, I'm sure they mean them lovingly. In general, I'm just a fun-loving girl who enjoys simple pleasures in life such as $.99 tacos, throwing/attending occasional theme parties, and being the personal photographer of my two cats.

PHILOSOPHY

"Watch with glittery eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places."
--Roald Dahl

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After I move to a larger city, I will happily welcome surfers from around the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A couple graciously offered to let my friend and I surf their apartment after they found us hopelessly navigating the streets of Venice searching for our hostel (which didn't exist) around 2am. They had a lovely cat and saved us from sleeping on the streets!

Interests

I greatly enjoy travel, (amateur) photography, meeting new people, laughing, learning, hiking, scuba diving, writing, live music, soccer, volleyball, over-celebrating holidays, reading, and dancing. (Sidenote on the dancing: I'm no trained ballerina. It might get weird but it will be fun.)

Music, Movies, and Books

Most anything entertaining, clever, insightful or inspiring.

Music: Rock/Indie/Bluegrass/Folk - and you know... Pitbull is always releasing some bilingual hit for me to test my floundering Spanish skills.

Movies: Quirky comedies, historical documentaries, and movies that make me think (but not too much). Wes Anderson films are some of my favorites. And duh, Jurassic Park.

Books: To Kill a Mockingbird, Bossypants, A Modest Proposal, Roald Dahl's autobiographies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched the sun rise over Florence, Italy from Piazzale Michelangelo with new friends after spending the entire night wining, dining, shamelessly dancing to absurd European techno music, and eating (delicious) freshly baked cannolis from a "secret bakery" at 4am. We left at 6am and caught our flight out of Italy two hours later.

Teach, Learn, Share

You can definitely fit more pairs of shoes in your backpack than what Rick Steves says you can. Pass it on.
