About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to get to know as many different cultures and people
ABOUT ME
I was born in Jerusalem in 1986 where I grew up until I moved with my family to Melbourne, Australia for 3 years in 1999. I then returned to Israel in 2002 in preparation for my army service.
I studied mechanical engineering at the Technion - Israeli Institute of Technology, and completed a B.Sc and an M.Sc. During my studies I worked a lot in my university's PR department and was part of the students' environmental group.
I've been dating a great guy for the past 5 years, and with him I've been enjoying random trips to Europe (Switzerland, Hungary, Bulgaria...)
I love to spend my time reading books, working out at the gym, listening to music, going out to have drinks and food with friends, watching a bit of TV here and there... With my work it feels like there just aren't enough hours in the day for it all :)
PHILOSOPHY
I'm a big believer in Live and Let Live.
As long as you don't harm another person or their freedom, you should be free to do whatever you want.
I believe our time on this planet is short and during my time I want to experience life to the fullest: visiting as many places, making the most of my skills, leaving my little dent in the world...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a few couchsurfers with my boyfriend, but only recently opened a profile so the comments and all are on his profile :)
When hosting, we like to show the surfer a bit of Jerusalem from a local's perspective - the best small bars and clubs, restaurants and hidden corners.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've very much enjoyed hosting, but haven't had the chance to surf couches yet.
Interests
I enjoy traveling (Duh), going out to parties, good food, watching TV, going to the gym, and trying out new things!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: anything by Terry Pratchett, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, White Teeth, Everything is Illuminated, Infinite Jest, A House of Leaves, ASOIF... Those are just a few. I love reading books that are a bit out there, different.
Music: Snow Patrol, Guster, Sia, Pink, KT Tunstall, London Grammar, Lorde, Kimbra, Norah Jones, Alanis Morissette, Nelly Furtado.
Movies: Liberty Stands Still, The Fall, Mirrormask, Where the Wild Things Are, Mystery Men, LOTR, any X-Men film.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oh wow...
Ummm...
I think that travel-wise it would probably be scaling Masada before dawn and standing at the top to watch the sunrise over the dead sea.
Not travel-related would have to be officer's school which was an amazing experience that helped shape the person that I am today and helped me discover the power of the human spirit (cheesy but true), and the inherent good in people.
Teach, Learn, Share
I, like many people in Israel, am extremely interested and knowledgeable in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I enjoy discussing it and philosophizing about it since it really isn't a clear cut issue. It's a great example of a lose-lose situation that can never be solved (in my opinion).
Apart for that, I'm a "garbage brain". I love to collect useless pieces of information. Admittedly, I don't check the validity of all these pieces of information, so at times I find myself talking out of my ass.
I enjoy graphic design in my spare time so I'm fairly knowledgeable in Photoshop.
And of course - I know a shitload in the field of Mechanical Engineering (physics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, design).
