Overview
About Me
I come from Norway, but am living in Edinburgh in Scotland and will be for the foreseeable future to take my degree in Linguistics. As well as linguistics I do language courses, now half a year of Italian and in the next semesters Turkish. I will say I am, but that would probably apply to any account in here. I am also normally easy to talk to. I'm a youngster in the scene. The last couple of years I have traveled in Turkey, Spain, Italy, Germany and Austria.
Sadly, living in university halls means that I cannot have people here without much fuzz, but I am looking forward to next year getting my own flat and being able to meet some of the people visiting Edinburgh.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We all know being in a new city alone can feel quite daunting and even at times uninteresting. By meeting other people in foreign countries I have found an amazing connection with them and the place they live.
Interests
I have played the clarinet for about 10 years, and have developed a talent for it without being gifted. I decided against taking music in university. Instead I chose linguistics out of interest and love for how we communicate and express ourselves, as well as how we can communicate with our amazing technology. In addition I have taken an interest in calligraphy and writing, particularly of the traditional scripts.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to listen to any music containing a clarinet, I listen to classical music and I can take a liking to any music that has some kind of musical talent behind it. For reading, I like any historical novel (Follett, Cornwell...) or some of the great classics like Tolstoy. I also read a lot of popular science, like Jared Diamond .
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Does it count to say I saw the northern light? Even though it was like every other during winter. Maybe not, if so: Meeting my first Internet friend in person and realising I had never seen that person, yet feel a strong connection to them.
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak Norwegian and English quite fluently, can get around well with German and have picked up quite a bit of Turkish grammar, as well as standard phrases and some basic words. If any of those interest you, then be sure to bring it up. I have also done a semester of introduction to Italian.
If you want to discuss, want tips or share knowledge on any of my interests, it is an easy topic to talk to me about.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer an interesting talk over some good food or a glass of good wine or beer. A curious, never ending series of questions about your language or your city, and perhaps someone to come visit in the future where I live.
