About Me

I'm a young man trying to learn a little about the world through experience and practice instead of the internet. I've spent most of my life in the same county, only leaving to visit other places for a few days at most, so I'm hoping to see as many places as I can.

I enjoy learning new things, and seeing interesting places. I usually try to take my time when visiting places I've never been before to get the full experience, which does quite often lead me away from the beaten path to find out of the way experiences, and quite often get distracted from my destination to enjoy the journey there.

I believe that some things have to be done in person, and that although pictures and video are great for remembering what I've done, I try to get other people to visit the places I've been so I can share the emotion and excitement that comes from a first person view.

I work towards being interesting and having stories to tell, and living an interesting, storied life is the best way to do that. Part of that includes trying new thing and I would love to do some things most people are to scared to try.

When I do travel I spend as much time as possible on foot, so I can fully experience a place and meet as many people as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe that without taking some time with people you won't get the full experience of a place, And I love the idea that I can meet people who feel the same way as me towards travel.

Couchsurfing gives me connections to people and places I could never have otherwise. With the ability to set up communication with people just about anywhere I hope to join a group of people who value meeting people and sharing experiences as much as me, and I believe that being able to show a stranger the places you are used to and see everyday will open your eyes to the interesting and curious world around you that everyday life has made mundane and boring.

Interests

I love hiking and camping because of the ability to see nature without modern distractions and interference. I spend as much time out of the house as possible, whether I'm out in the wilderness or just people watching at a local coffee shop. A lot of my enjoyment comes from taking in beautiful places and scenery whether urban or wild.

I do a little photography for fun, although I haven't done any serious studying I still enjoy taking pictures of fun and interesting sights.

I enjoy talking with people, meeting strangers and hearing stories from around the world. I am studying Psychology as a hobby to further understand the people around me, and try to be as open minded and understanding towards other people as possible

I love cooking and would love to learn or teach some recipes to anyone interested, and especially love trying new foods.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music I enjoy more upbeat music although the exact genre changes depending from day to day. Artists I enjoy are Sam Hunt, Maroon 5, David Bustamente, Nico & Vinz, Train, Fallout Boy, and Quest Pistols.

Movies I enjoy tend towards the more low key action and martial arts movies, although I find movies way more fun the more people watching. So even the worst movies can be made enjoyable by having people I know watching with me. Recommendations are The Bourne Trilogy, Nacho Libre, and Hitch. I prefer the prequel Trilogy of Star Wars, and I'm still waiting for a Last Airbender Movie (the M Night one never happened).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the first things that come to mind would be the first real hike I've ever done. It was only 24 miles, and primarily on flat ground, but it was the first time I'd ever really pushed myself towards getting outdoors, and started me on a path towards self improvement that I hope to continue for the rest of my Life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in learning how to cook dishes from around the world, and am willing to exchange knowledge on the topic.
