Overview
About Me
I'm a Lithuanian, living in the UK for nearly 5 years now. Despite of recent Brexit developments and impending ignorances, I still have a lot of love for this country.
Generally, I'm a keen history nerd, I love exploring and finding out things about different cultures, I feel it stimulates my mind and makes me see the world in a different way each time I learn something new. I'm also very big on social justice. I care deeply about human rights issues and it's something I want to relate my future career to. Moreover, I love debates and discussions, about any topic really, but what gets me going is sharing different philosophies and ways of life with other people. A lot of times in these situations you learn something about yourself that might seemed very obvious to other people, but you had no idea yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always wanted to travel more and explore a lot of places, but never had the resources or the time for it, but I have finally found it now! I've always loved exploring and learning about different cultures, views and ways of life, hence i thought there is no better way to travel in order to get all of these things than with couchsurfing. My first trip by myself around Spain while using couchsurfing proved that this is an amazing resource and lovely community with tons of opportunities to meet all kinds of people. Look forward to meeting many more of you!
Music, Movies, and Books
I love films in a general sense and tv shows, similar to many people you could find me watching things on netflix quite often, but I also have a real appreciation for film noir and similar style films.
Moreover, reading is something I can never let go of. Currently I am very deep into academic reading, but I try to leave some time for fiction as well.
In terms of music, I like variety and I what I like the most depends on my mood. Currently i'm fairly into jazz and acoustic music as some of my friends are musicians :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can speak 4 languages fluently and I would be happy to practice any of the languages with the hosts, if it is of interest. I love cooking and always happy to make a meal/ share a meal with my hosts or bring them something from my home country if there's anything they fancy!
I also hope that me and the hosts will find plenty of topics in common or even better, something to debate about, and that will us both new discoveries and make sure we have a lovely time together.
