About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore and follow my passions for singing and finding my best purpose in life
ABOUT ME
I am warm, friendly, kind, and always looking for the best way to obtain happiness. Right now, I'm breaking all the rules: I just quit my job to pursue a singing career and to travel to France to become fluent and meet lots of great people.
I love all the arts, singing jazz, singing classical, singing anything really, writing, reading, and learning in general.
I'm from Chicago, have been in New York for 3 years now, and can't wait to make my next move.
I used to work in book publishing at Random House doing many things from Marketing to Editorial to Sales to Publicity (mostly assistant work), then I worked in Publicity. Then I left to work at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law. I JUST quit there to follow my dreams and live a bit more free. We'll see how it goes. :)
PHILOSOPHY
I believe we should all follow our passions and follow what makes our hearts beat, and that if everyone were able to take the time to figure out what genuinely makes them happy, and to then pursue it, the world would be a much better place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I originally joined the site in hopes of finding a couch (or a few) for my stint in Paris in early 2008. I ended up becoming an au pair and meeting some of the coolest humans ever through couchsurfing!
I've since stayed in Berlin (twice) and Reykjavik and will soon be able to make a couch available in Philadelphia where I'll be moving upon return from my next Euro trip.
I'm always referring people to the site, as I was referred by a friend. And I'm open to anything else I can do to help out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I visited Yosemite National Park in California and slept there overnight--it was freezing cold, but an absolutely gorgeous visual and physical experience...I visited Ghana alone, but stayed with the family of a friend. Just having the chance to talk to people about their experiences, and to ride the tro-tro and walk the neighborhoods was wonderful
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to knit or crochet; I can edit/copyedit most anything; (I'm sure there's more but can't think of it right now...)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories about thrifting (I'm a shopaholic)
Actually, stories about anything - I'm a great storyteller
Songs (I can sing to you, teach you a song, practice sound healing techniques...)
Great Vegan Food (via my boyfriend if he's with me)
And perhaps (depending on the season) a scarf!
