ABOUT ME

well, i live in portland, or b/c i LOVE it and it is AWESOME. the music scene here is pretty sweet...lots of local bands, lots of outdoor festivals, lots of touring. i enjoy anything outdoors, so living in portland, i am close to the mountains (hood, st. helens, rainier, etc.)where i can go hiking, berry-picking, climbing, etc. the beach is also close...i enjoy all of the produce that grows here as well. you can find me picking berries, peaches, okra, etc. and canning in the summer.

i recently graduated from grad school and am currently working as a mental health therapist in a state prison with men. it is interesting work, although i must say, not nearly as challenging as my past job of 5 years, working non-profit with adolescent girls who were pregnant or parenting & their sweet babies!

most of all, i enjoy spending my time with friends and family, doing many of the things mentioned above. lots of music-making, music-listening, outdoor-playing, food-enjoying activities.

currently, i am searching for some european couches. preferably, the belgian, scottish and irish kind...

after my european couchsurfing episode of 2009 ends, i plan on hosting my couch to friendly, interesting travelers who want to visit stumptown.
