I'm currently planning a long term backpacking trip in 2018-19. Though I haven't properly used it,Couchsurfing seems like an amazing thing; getting a place to stay and get to know local people(which is limited in dorm rooms in hostels).

I can show you how university students live like in Japan.My apartment is not big but probably not less spacious than the crammed dorms in central Tokyo(which are very difficult to find anyway)
If your stay is arranged in advance enough I can show you around the city, eat some yummy food together etc...I'll be your exclusive guide!!haha which I hope will be helpful-very few people speak English in Japan.
I also like going out drinking so I can show you some of the bars in Tokyo I often go to ;)
