About Me

I recently completed my MSc. and I am now planning my dream trip of backpacking around the coast of South America. So far I have only been to Brasil, but I cannot wait to go back there again. I have had a great interest in the Brazilian culture for as long as I can remember, and that is what pushed me to learn Portuguese. I also love to cook and bake, and part of the reason why I enjoy Travelling so much is the exposure to the different dishes all over the world. I LOVE FOOD!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently found out about it, and I would like to give it a try during my backpacking trip. I think that, being able to meet and live with the people who live in the places I want to visit is much better than staying in hotels or hostels. The locals know the area, all the good hiking spots, and where to find the best food, and that is what I also want to discover during my travels. Being able to meet and talk with locals would probably be much easier through couch surfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Adopted a dog. She had a rough upbringing, but ever since I brought her home, she's turned into a very happy, active and playful dog. She's brought so much joy to our family, we don't know what we'd do without her.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning Portuguese has been on my to-do list for a while now. But also learning how to make new dishes! So far, I have attempted British, French, Indian, Chinese, Polish, Japanese, and Brazilian dishes. I love travelling because I get exposed to so many new dishes, new flavors, and new spices! I have collected spices from every place I have traveled to so far.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If anyone ever wants to learn French, or Mauritian creole, I am more than willing to help! Also, if you ever want to exchange cooking/baking tips, techniques and recipes, I'm game! And if you love dancing, I can also show you our traditional Mauritian sega dance moves.
