ABOUT ME

I am an international graduate student in USA. I am originally from Bangladesh. If you do not know where it is, it is located near 'Heaven'. We are one of the poorest of nations in terms of money, and the happiest nation in terms of peace of mind. Does it ring any bell?

I wear glasses, people say that I look like a Professor. I do not know if that is a good thing or not. But I can usually carry on an intellectual conversation, which is often interesting!

PHILOSOPHY

I do not lie, cheat, breach trust, hurt anybody without a reason. Life is too short for any of those.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I consider myself lucky because I was initiated into the CS project by a CS ambassador. I am still a newbie, trying to understand the norms of this community. I see myself as an active couchsurfer and host very soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed twice, one of them may not count because she was already a classmate and friend of mine.

CouchSurfing by itself interests me a lot. I am currently conducting a research study on online communities that promote diversity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled 11,000 miles for somebody, and resisted the last 11 feet, simply because I was not welcome any more. I will only explain in person what I mean by this sentence.

Do you know that the color of your eyes can change when you gain or lose hope? I have seen that amazing thing from a close distance.

One other thing I have seen is the glow fluorescent sea weeds in the Saint Martin's island of Bangladesh. At night, when there is no artificial source of light near the beach, it was a surreal experience to observe thousands of stars glowing in water. And the more you touch them, the more they increase in number!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how more usable technologies can be designed that are cognizant of human capabilities and in-capabilities. I know one thing or two about computers, programming. I would prefer to be a philosopher, although I do not have a formal training in philosophy.
