Hello! I am an American (from Virginia), but I have been living and studying in the United Kingdom for years now - brand new to couchsurfing. A friend recommended it to meet people on my current trip (to Portugal and Spain).

I am a historian and I try to see places from the perspective of both the past and the present.

I'm eager to meet new people, experience new places, and try new foods. I really enjoy rock climbing and cooking, but sadly not likely going to have time for either on this trip.

I'm trying to learn more about wines, and both Portugal and Spain has been amazing for that so far!

I have housing sorted - I am looking for new friends, not looking for a place to stay!
