About Me

I grew up in New Jersey, live in California for ten years (north and south), and juuuust left Pittsburgh where I studied applying data science to public policy.

I bike. To the train for work, to the store, more when I have the time. I think bike tours are great ways to see a new city. If you go to San Jose, check out sanjosebikeparty.

I like to eat octopus (and lots of other things).

Currently travelling Colombia for a bit over a month. My grandma is from Bogotá but now I want to see the rest of the country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to live in a house where we had lots of couchsurfers and it was great. Interested in finding fun people when I travel. I love giving advice on where to go when someone comes to anywhere I've lived, and I like it when someone does the same for me.

I like making new, random acquaintances with like minded poeple. Spent four hours on a plane trip recently discussing life, travel, and the nature of friendship with someone and I'd like to keep finding people like that.

Interests

THE OCEAN, and most other natural bodies of water. I'm transfixed. Being in the ocean watching the sunset is the best thing I can think of. It makes me feel connected to the earth.

Music, Movies, and Books

Fight Club (the movie and the book, but very different). I mostly like somewhat depressing movies, something heavy that makes you feel and think. Or genre twists, like Cabin in the Woods, and maybe Mad Max Fury Road fits into that category. I really like twist endings, give me a recommendation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took the train from California to Pennsylvania to move (back) across the country.

Been bike camping (once).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Botswana, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Iceland, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Portugal, Spain, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In
