About Me

I am a bilingual elementary school teacher and I absolutely love my job and my students. I spend a lot of time outdoors hiking the beautiful mountains in my hometown and making myself tired with failed DIY projects around the home.

I spend the school year writing lesson plans, going to a quick gym session, pretending that running 3+ miles is enjoyable, and riding my bike through town. As teachers, we have a lot of holidays which is when I tend to leave town to let my little heart wander.

I like spending my days as best as I can (yup, #YOLO) and to give things and people a chance. I enjoy building genuine connections and becoming friends with strangers.

Most of my life I’ve lived in the borderland of El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Chihuahua and I take great pride in being bicultural and a decent Mexican food cook.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

These past years on Couchsurfing, I’ve met amazing people and formed life long friendships with some. It's a way to share what I can whether it's friendship, space, time, respect, food, etc. I prefer to host since my travel flexibility oftentimes comes off as poor planning. When I do get to travel, I try to be a graceful guest and host by being neat and unintrusive.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll listen to anything on Spotify. My favorite band right now is Young the Giant, but my playlists vary with the #mood.

I enjoy reading books more than watching TV, but you’ll still find me trying to catch up on shows. My favorite books are about people who decided to challenge the norm and go out on their own to nature.

My favorite movies are Ferris Bueler’s Day Off, Mulan (in Spanish), Mean Girls, and The Greatest Showman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There’s been so many breath-taking moments during my travels that I couldn’t just pick one. Usually the amazing things for me revolve around moments that feel like time has stopped and where my thoughts finally turn into silence. It’s always when I’m outside.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to share travel stories. I’m always down to help out around the house, especially if it’s cooking.
