About Me

ABOUT ME

Russ is 41, Arlene is 33. We live on a small farm in Maine with a small herd of dairy goats and some chickens. Arlene is a cheese maker and attends a farmers' market in the area throughout the summer. Russ works from home and keeps the fields mowed and the animals fenced. We both share an imaginative sense of humor. We love good, fresh food, and dinner gatherings with friends and good, local beer!

We just got married this summer (2016) and we are planning to buy our own farm soon. Life has been very busy/hectic this summer, with many house guests, so we are currently not able to take couch surfers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We try to host when we are able...when our life isn't so busy that we can actually spend a little time with those who are staying with us. We try to travel a little each year, but like to keep the option of meeting new people open by couch surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Arlene lived in a house that hosted many surfers up in LaGrange, Maine. Lots of cooking, talking and enjoying new company! We were also lucky enough to host a few great couples while at Appleton Farms in Ipswich, Massachusetts throughout 2013. We have also stayed with an amazing woman in Northern Ireland for a couple nights the last time we traveled overseas.

Music, Movies, and Books

Russ is a lover of books and movies. He would like to own a little book shop one day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Canoeing across a remote lake on a new moon night. The water and sky were both as still and clear as glass. It was hard to tell where one ended and the other began. We could see a billion stars. The whole Milky-way galaxy over our heads. And all those stars were reflecting off the surface of the water as we glided through it. It Felt like we were floating through space and maybe time as well. Umbagog Lake state park on the New Hampshire/Maine boarder.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are interested in traveling to other places where we can experience the connection of land/people/animals working together.
Arlene loves to share her knowledge of cheese and cheese making.
