Overview
About Me
I'm studying for a Masters degree in translation in Bucharest, where I live with my husband, cat and dog. I love diving, sailing, singing and playing instruments. I'm always up for a good conversation and an adventure :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
it's a wonderful way to meet people and see the world.
Interests
Languages - I love learning new languages. I speak four myself, but I'm always up for picking up a new one. Seriously thinking about becoming a translator at some point in the near future.
Traveling - I love hearing and sharing stories of visits in far away (or not so far away) places :)
Sailing and diving - I am a licensed skipper and a PADI divemaster :)
Music - I still sing, I used to play the piano and the guitar and I used to be a real music enthusiast but a degree in music education kind of took it out of me...
Art - Sketching is like my therapy :) I also enjoy art and museums, but rarely make time for it, unfortunately.
Animals - I like and get along with them all. I myself have a cat and a dog, lots of stories about them and a photo gallery of the two that wouldn't shame the proudest of parents.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - Florence + The Machine, Arcade Fire, Fiona Apple, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Gogol Bordello, Fink, Elliott Smith, Scott Matthews, 19th century composers... The list is too long, though it used to be longer. These days it's really whatever is in my head.
Movies - Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Pulp Fiction, Dr. Strangelove, and yes. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, if only for the beasts...
Books - I'm a Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett kind of person, but I have been known to read other books as well - Pride and Prejudice, Kurt Vannegut, Etgar Kerret, Jonathan Safran Foer...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Found true love :)
But other than that I think sailing in Greece and diving in the Cenotes in Mexico are just a few amazing things I've done deliberately.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach people how to sing and tell them a few interesting things about history and Middle Eastern politics. I can also cook and speak 3 (almost 4!) languages. I can tell you about Israel, Russia and Romanian bureaucracy, and I'm not too bad at sketching.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some food, a drink, a walk in the park , sponteneity... Something quiet and fun. I make a mean shakshuka, may even make chocolate truffles, pirojki or empanadas if there's time and ingredients :)
