About Me
I am a student study abroad in Florence, Italy for this fall semester. I study Fashion Design at Kent State University.
I am a traveller at heart, but I honestly have not travelled too much. I have visited family in Mexico, traveled around the USA, and I have been to Toronto. With little traveling experience, moving to Florence has been shocking to me. I expected to struggle a lot, but I adapt to new environments very well.
I love seeing new places, cities, and countries for a variety of reasons, but I should narrow them down to just two. Since elementary school, I have been fascinated with foreign languages and cultures. I taught myself both French and Portuguese in 8th grade, but I have since forgotten them. Being an artist I have to find things that inspire me to create beautiful things. Seeing the world and learning about other cultures inspires me like none other.
Side note: My age may be a concern, because young people like to stay out late and are largely considered inconsiderate. You are letting my stay in your home, so I will abide by any of your rules and be as respectful and considerate as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing, because it is a much cheaper alternative for housing while traveling. I could simply stay in a hostel or AirBnb, but they can get pretty pricey for a student's budget.
I would also love to get to know people who actually live in the city that I am visiting so that I can practice the language and get to know the culture from a local's perspective. I truly believe home-stays are the best way to visit a new country!
