About Me

CURRENT MISSION

looking to escape the chicago winter

ABOUT ME

I love tea, bikes, cameras, kittens, going out dancing, not much of a drinker these days but do on occasion enjoy a cold Guinness with a juicy cheeseburger and fries! On a cold winter night in Chicago I might enjoy smoking a nice blunt and enjoying a cup of hot coca! In the summer I'm all about doing some camping and spending as much of my day outside as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life with the intentions of learning and growing from the experiences and mistakes I've made to better love myself and love those around me! Family and friends are important to me as well as making new relationships and helping take care of each other when possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Newbie but have seen my friend do a great deal of hosting back in Chicago and have surfed a couple of times with my BF!!! Have loved being a third person in hosting and surfing so thought it was about time I get my own profile!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I first heard about couch surfing earlier in the year I got to see my boyfriend and his room mates host any number of surfers at any given time! Whether from Mexico, New York, France, Germany, Idaho,or Wisconsin every surfer was always very respectful and had more then a few interesting stories of travel! Surfers would want know what to do, others would spend time in the kitchen, some simply needed a place to rest!Having couch surfed with my boyfriend in Phoenix and in San Diego I got to experience what it was like being a surfer staying in someones home for a night or two! Some seriously nice, wonderful and generous folks out there who are offering their homes, kitchen, bathrooms or just general knowledge of a city they call home!

Interests

Have definitely grown into more and more of an outdoors type of guy but have a lot of city dwelling under my belt. I love biking around the city, enjoying a cup of tea or hitting up a museum for the afternoon! There are definitely plenty of nights I enjoy hitting up a good club but also have enjoyed being completely alone camping with just a book to keep me entertained! Big photo and art nerd without getting all pretentious and theoretical on you! I'm ultimately very laid back but tried not to ever be bored.

Music, Movies, and Books

Grew up listening to a lot of 80's House, Italo Disco, New Wave, Freestyle, Industrial! Enjoy bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Joy Division, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, PSB, Erasure, Portishead, Vitalic, Leonard Cohen, The Velvet Underground, Nick Cave, LCD Soundsystem, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Antony & The Johnsons, Bjork, and Donna Summers. Also love a lot of electronic Arist and Deejays like Ellen Allien, Plastikman, Ricardo Villalobos, Levon Vincent, Speedy J, Jeff Mills, Cassy, Derrick Carter, Ame, anything on DFA records!

Movies: I always enjoy a good SciFi movie, Documentaries, Italian horror, zombie flicks, or something with a great deal of adventure! LOTR, Alien Series, Early John Waters, Showgirls,

Books: Big geek for art monographs and photo books. Like reading about contemporary art and theory. Also enjoy reading biographies!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd say the small amount of traveling I've gotten to do and the relationships that I've managed to make traveling is something pretty spectacular. Traveling from one city to the next each day has the endless possibility of providing something new and interesting as well as providing a new start every city you visit. Traveling also gave me the opportunity to do a lot of things I was afraid of like rock climbing and cliff diving. If I'm afraid of it then i do it.
