About Me

We're a bilingual Mexican American family with two kids and two dogs (who don't shed so they usually don't bother allergic people). We have a nice fenced in front yard and a cozy little home. My family has lived in Central Oregon since the late 60's and I tend to be a free traveler. Absolutely no smoking of any kind is allowed and no recreational drugs including marijuana are allowed on the premises as we are not all US citizens.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We just moved back from living in Europe for 9 months and I'd love to continue meeting people while we're homebound for the next year or two. We host through Couchsurfers as well as WarmShowers. We still continue traveling domestically though so we're in and out of the house a lot.

Interests

My passions are travel, photography, and putting those travel photos into scrapbooks. I've been documenting the stories of our lives since 1997. My husband is into personal training and body building so we eat very healthy home cooked meals.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon many times. I love classic rock, the 80's, cumbia and latin music. My favorite movies are The Green Mile, The Way, Patch Adams, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I love to watch Netflix and my favorite shows: Hawaii Five-O, NCIS, CSI, Law&Order, Numb3rs, Orange is the New Black, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done everything that I've set my mind to. I live by my bucket list. I'm currently working on a 50 Before 50 list. Current aspiration is to save up and buy an R-Pod trailer and take my family on a 2-3 month road trip around the southern United States from Oregon to Florida and back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always wanting to learn skills. Next up is to learn how to sew, use a sewing machine, make stained glass, and take night shots of the beautiful area I live in.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Genuine conversation, wide background of interests as we have lots of experiences in many different things. We are a very mellow family so we ask that our guests show up by 8pm unless prior arrangements have been made. We limit guests to two nights and we are more interested in hosting casual travelers than folks looking to try out the 20 different microbreweries in town. We expect guests to be out of the house in the morning when we leave for work and school. Depending on schedules, we are happy to show you around town and have lots of tips to share.
