About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet people, enjoy life and discover a little more of this world, including people, places, food, drinks, music, landscapes, emotions, feelings and ways of thinking

ABOUT ME

Here you have a friendly guy who wants to share many life experiences and gain many more everywhere in the world

I consider myself to be open-minded, as well as curious and nonconformist. Most of times I enjoy being in company, having fun / talking with people, though at some moments the loneliest part of me comes out, and I need to think or walk alone, on my own. If I'm concentrated my face looks very serious, but don't get fooled by the appearance :)

I believe life still has lots for me to learn and discover :)

PHILOSOPHY

I think that if life exists it must be for enjoying it, so the 'carpe diem' motto is quite important for me. I also give importance to open-minded and tolerant people, as this is the basis for a good society and a nice well-being

I am also concerned about the concept of empathy and kindness: it's important to try to make others feel comfortable and to see things from their side before judging or analysing. As humans we are by nature quite impulsive, but nothing should refrain us from caring for each other

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm an adventure-loving guy in Uppsala, one of the oldest towns in Sweden, and the most important and historical student town in Scanvinavia. I like travelling around surfing and meeting people, and also I like to host people. Apart from the hosting itself, I really enjoy sharing experiences and nice times with other surfers, since this is in my opinion the best part of Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While doing an exchange in northern Finland I started getting into CouchSurfing, and I both surfed and hosted people having great fun and nice experiences

I went mostly surfing in the North of Scandinavia so far, that's Finnish and Swedish Lapland and Northern Norway. Later I've been surfing also in central Europe. It's been a while since I haven't hosted or surfed myself, but I'm really looking forward to do it again. "Once couchsurfer, couchsurfer for life" is my motto

Interests

I'm very interested in music. I don't like just listening to it, but also playing it on the piano or on my voice. I usually sing in one or another choir, which is fun not only for the musical part, but also in sociability terms

Besides, I love travelling, learning languages and enjoying nature. I'm also quite interested in politics, history (particularly 19th, 20th and 21st century) and many other topics, so feel free to talk with me about anything

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm very interested in jazz music, pop music, fusion music and classical music. There are different kinds of favourite music for me depending on the mood I have.
Bands/musicians that I love: Els Amics de les Arts, Pink Martini, Alicia Keys, John Rutter, Buenavista Social Club, Manel, Brams, Zara Larsson, Cindy Lauper, Steve Dobrogosz, Els Pets

Films: Django Unchained, V for Vendetta, Pulp Fiction, Life of Brian, Up, 12 Monkeys, Chocolat, The Imitation Game, The Fencer, Inside Out, Mil Cretins, La Lengua de las Mariposas

Series: House of Cards, Sherlock, Bron (The Bridge), Borgen, Porca Misèria, Nit i Dia

In books, most of times I don't read novels but I like Catalan writer Quim Monzó and its surrealistic short stories. I must admit that I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter as well, and I love feeling involve in this universe. I'm also in love of The Adventures of Tintin and some other Belgian Bande Desinée (comic strips) authors

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ice hole swimming in late January in Oulu, in Northern Finland, with the feeling that my chest hair just became pure frost

Taking the amazing rail from Kiruna to Narvik, admiring the impressive national parks and reserves, right before hiking through Norwegian picturesque mountains with snow on top and almost 30 degrees at the bottom (in summer, of course)

Participating in the kroppkaka ceremony at Kalmar nation in Uppsala, seeing how the proper kroppkakor were served and tasted, and afterwards counting the number of kroppkakor that were eaten in the eating competition

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Spanish language and Catalan language for anybody who wants to learn them. I wish I could teach something about music, but I'm afraid I can't do it so much

I'm interested in learning languages, such as Swedish (obviously), French, German, or Italian so it would be great to try them. I'd also like to learn cooking more sophisticate things, since most of the food I cook tends to be quite basic so far.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Nice conversations almost about anything, funny expected or unexpected activities together (cooking, hiking, walking in the city, etc.)

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Finland, Spain, Sweden
