ABOUT ME

Traveling in Europe when not sailing.

That's the geographical, cultural and original part of us. Our personalities are probably more difficult to locate and describe. Who does precisely anyway! Most important is that we're always in the mood for new experiences and travels and want to share it.
We'll be glad to meet you!

PHILOSOPHY

"Les Essais" of Montaigne is like a bible. There is no human problem, there are only questions. Everyone looks for its own answers. That's why there are so many answers.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting when studying or working. Surfing when travelling. Taking part of small and big CS meetings: Dublin, Lyon, Prague, Lille, Vienna, Brussels, London, Manila, Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Tokyo and Seoul!

Interests

Mountain-hiking in the Swiss Alps in summer and skiing in winter. Cycling in Lyon. Many other things and whatever we're invited to do and discover when travelling. For instance, going to Onsens and Saunas in Japan and Korea. So relaxing!
We love chocolate with porto tawny and blue cheese with sweet wines. We like drinking French, Italian, Spanish and New World red wines too as well as Belgian, German and Czech beers. They are pretty good and definitely warm up the atmosphere and invite us for more conversation!

Music, Movies, and Books

Listening to Afro-Cuban music when dancing, Jazzy songs when cycling, Classical music when studying, Funky music when driving and African music when dreaming. We like Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Bob Dylan and many others that we listen to but never remember the names. Especially daydreaming on that song: Y qué tu quieres que te den - Adalberto Alvarez.

We're going to cinema or theater at least once a week. Filmmakers I definitly like the style are Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line), Etore Scola (Dramma della gelosia), Stanley Kubrick (Lolita), Steven Soderberg (Syriana, Che), Wong Kar Wai (In the Mood for Love), Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown), Park Chan Wook (Old Boy). Benicio del Toro is my favorite actor (21 grams), Robert de Niro or Sean Penn are outstanding and Marcello Mastroianni is the best.

Trying to read a good book each month. I like Kundera, Coelho, Flaubert, Dostoïevski, Hesse, Hampâté Bâ, Wilde.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Grew up in Africa wildlife. Thanks to my father who worked for the Belgian Development Cooperation during 20 years.
Learned to behave myself. Thanks to my mother who watch after me even though it isn't so easy!
Horse riding in the nearby country side with my sister each time I visit my family in Brussels.
Went down the Grand Canyon with my brother and climbed it back all the way up.
Having a good talk with my good old friends (the ones one keeps all his life) and to whom one says: "I see you when I see you"...

Teach, Learn, Share

When in Lyon you're welcome to join us for a Korean style training session in the Club Hapkido Jin Jung Kwan where is practised an original korean martial art. Evening classes are held every Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
