Overview
About Me
Hello! I am Arne, I'm a student at the University of Leuven, currently finishing my Master's degree in Tourism. I consider myself an outgoing and open-minded person, always up to go for a drink, a party or a trip - I have literally devoted my studies to it. :) I used to study roman languages before this master's, so I'm happy to say that we can chat in four different languages!
Besides my studies, I devote a lot of time to music: I'm the bass player in a progressive metal band, and play some guitar, ukelele, drums and piano on the side. Music has been important to me ever since I was a kid, and I've been into mostly punk rock and metal ever since - although I find myself listening to reggae, techno, rave, indie, ... as well. Other hobbies of mine include basketball, hiking, and going out.
Furthermore, I spend a lot of time as a youth animator; working to host summer camps for children. Recently I received my diploma as an animator-instructor, educating younger generations on how to be good animators themselves!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really enjoy meeting people from all over the world and learn about their culture and customs; that's also why I try to travel to as much different places as my wallet can afford.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: mostly punk rock and metal, but also indie/reggae/ska/postrock/alt/... and some guilty pleasures. Some great bands are Pennywise, The Offspring, Sum 41, Dead Kennedys, Billy Talent, but I can also find myself listening to stuff like SOJA, Glass Animals, Municipal Waste, Die Antwoord, FISHER, ... Musical Chameleon.
Movies: Into the Wild is the best movie ever, try to change my mind ;-)
Books: "It's better to live on your feet than to die on your knees" ~Joseph Heller - Catch 22
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
