About Me

Hi,
Lol; I am vaccinated :D
Besides, I never know where to start. I don't like the question: "Who are you", because many expect an answer about your job or profession and I don't identify myself just with my work. So let me start with what I value. I believe that moral consideration should be impartial with respect to space and TIME. The most important consequence is that I base important moral decision on their impact to the future - the long-term future, everything that is to come.
You might have many questions, but keep them for later. I promise you; I would love to answer them all - preferably in person, but in case you can't wait, check out effectivealtruism.org.
For Couchsurfing it might be much more important on how I am and what I value is obviously important for how I am, but rather abstract and little explanatory. So, friends as well as strangers often say that I can have at minimum a slightly meaningful conversation with everyone. In my own words, I am simply curious - I love good conversations. And I'd love to get to know YOU.
The second thing my friends would probably say about me, is that I am touchy. Yes, I really love to hug my friends and cuddle with them. Though I am not sure how quickly hat behaviour evolves with people I meet for the first time.
Finally, maybe the basic facts about me: I like sports (swimming and volleyball) to play some guitar and do a little bit of yoga or meditate every now and then. And last but not least, my work, I am a student of mathematics currently writing my bachelor thesis.
I almost forgot, I life vegan, but I am happy to compromise in case you want to host me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have long thought about trying it out. Finally, I decided to make my own experiences with the community about which I heard so much. Courchsurfing seems to me to be the ideal place to travel alone, but feel home, wherever I arrive. The stories of Alexander Humboldt, traveling through South-America and East-Asia inspired me to go on my own first research journey. Like him, who has never been alone on his journey, who was depended on the contact, support and refrences to many other friends, I hope to find all of that in Couchsurfing.
It's the first time I want to travel with interrail through France, Britain, and Spain. Along the way I would love to meet some friends I made meanwhile my Erasmus in Finland and see some colleagues of mine that I have been working with remotely over the last year.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have super strong opinions, but if I would have to choose a favourite band, it would be either the Foo Fighters, or Querbeat (https://open.spotify.com/track/4KfLqxhuNgDnyyRaLryuOb?si=d1fb21e53ca44ed1). Just as a sidenote, I am currently trying to organize a techno/dance meditation. I've wanted to do this since a long time ago and once I found people doing it -> Covid...
I read a lot. A novel I've been recommended brings me to bed each night. Some days I can just get lost in Wikipedia or read some popular science. The precipice by Toby Ord may have been the most influential book to me.
I don't watch many movies or shows though I used to love marvel when I graduated from school. The last movies I have seen were "Frida Carlo" and "Blue is a warm colour" - loved them, recommendation. Prior to that, my flatmates and I watched some old James Bond movies; the sexism shocked us all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in the US, in Omaha Nebraska, to meet friends of my family, they weren't my age, so I had to make friends. The university offered climbing trip to which I signed up immediately and off we went. Five days in a reserve in Oklahoma. No water, no electricity, with 15 strangers, I haven't met before. These days and the once that were to come once we came back to Omaha may have been some of the best days of my life.
I've seen Auroras in Tromsø and went back country skiing in the Jotunheimen (the trolls in In the Hall of the Mountain King in Peer Gynt)
I went to St. Petersburg and saw the replicate of the amber-room.

Teach, Learn, Share

As mentioned above, I guess what may be most important is that I share a good communication with you. I love to cook together and in case you'd like to spend some time, explore the city with you. But don't worry, I can visit museums alone - seriously.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to share what inspires me to the most good possible and what I believe is the most good I can do.
