Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
Travelling for a year in Europe and Western Asia. Keeping myself alive with earning money on location.
ABOUT ME
I would describe myself as generally cheerful guy. I like to put a lot of energy in conversations and having fun when I am around people, resulting in me having a good time, and I think they like it too ;) I study at the University of Utrecht, veterinary science. I spend a lot of time at the faculty, studying, as well as attending some of the numerous veterinary parties with fellow students, although I have never been very good at organizing these parties myself. However, I was in a student board that organizes inetrantional exchanges between veterinary students and that went quite well. Besides my passion for animal life and the communication with both the pets and especially the owners I keep myself occupied with making music. I have played the harp, a large and a more carryable small one, for many years and I multiplied the value of the harp by playing on the streets and in some pubs or similar, quite undefined environments. Then I learned to play the bluesharp, that I literally have always on me, playing little tunes when I am waiting, for example, for a train. I also play guitar, but not nearly good enough as I would like to. The combination of playing the guitar, singing and sometimes playing the bluesharp has reached the level that people do not run away anymore and they even like it sometimes. I am very interested, like most couchsurfers I assume, in stories of others and to hear opnions about anything and I hope when you meet me we will have a good time.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that philosophy is not personal, that it is like laws in physics.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately I have not hosted many people in the place where I used to live (in Utrecht, Netherlands) because I thought it was too small and I thought I did not have enough time to 'entertain' my couchsurfers. Instead I hosted people that I spontaneously encountered and at the student exchange that I organized and participated in. I regret the lack of couchsurfers in my room in Utrecht now, because I have seen that at the places where I slept things worked out fine in often smaller rooms or with people that were only there for a little amount of time. I will be travelling through Europe and West-Asia this year and hope to meet some couchsurfers as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although I have just started my CS-account I have couchsurfed quite some places and have been to several CS-meetings, together with my good friend Sytse who introduced me to it. The concept of it is amazing. Organizing a system of mutual trust may seem an utopia to some people but my experience with CS is that it works really well. I have met some of the most fun and interesting people through this medium and I tell about it with much enthousiasm to fun and interesting people that do not know couchsurfing. Furthermore, I was pleasantly surprised by the incredible varied group of people at CS-meetings, it is good too see that so many nationalities, age-groups, and other subgroups get along so naturally and have fun together.
