One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We've once been to the rice terraces of Banaue (Philippines), which was one of our so far greatest experiences. After a long trip with the bus, going higher and higher uphill, our international group of close friends finally arrived at the top of the greatest rice terraces of the world. They were built about 4000 years ago, still look the same and the people living there were only discovered in the 1970s. We walked along thin walls of those terraces until we arrived a place completely covered by vegetation, where we started to walk down thousands of pretty high steps. We were completely tired when we arrived at the bottom of this place but what we found there was the most beautiful waterfall we have ever seen. The water flew down from the very top of the surrounding rocks, falling into a an ice cold small and quiet lake, the rocks were completely covered by tropical plants and you could hear the roaring of the waterfall, as well as all the tropical birds. This could really not be described by words nor pictures.
